Our story
We met 31 December 2015, we were both pretty new to the US and, with neither of us being over 21 on New Year's, we were limited in our options. Luckily, Andrea, a friend Laura met during Au Pair training, and David, whom she met through his Au Pair cluster, invited us to a party. While most people stick to a simple greeting, David broke the ice with '¿Cuál es tu número de teléfono?' From that moment, we quickly became friends.
3 months later on 24 March 2016 after a few months of getting to know each other and realising our friendship was building to something more, David invited Laura to a hockey game: Boston Bruins vs. Florida Panthers. The Bruins lost badly, but despite the disappointing game, David asked Laura to be his girlfriend on the way home. Since then, we've kept attending NHL games and haven't seen the Bruins lose live again; we must be their lucky charm.
On our 7 year anniversary trip to Rome, after navigating moving in together, relocating to the Czech Republic, bridging cultural differences, surviving a pandemic, buying our first apartment, and traveling to some amazing locations, David arranged an afternoon picnic and got down on one knee, Laura of course said yes.
This is where you all come in, you have each played a n important role in our lives and we want all of you to join us as we begin our next great adventure.
